I buy remanufactured toner cartridges for my HP 4050 from CR Office Tech (www.crofficetech.com ). I've been using them for several years, and I've had no problems with them. I get at least 10,000 copies per cartridge, about the same as when I used brand-name cartridges in the past. The brand-name cartridge runs about $135 at Office Max. I pay $59.88 for the remanufactured. From: Debbie WilsonSent: Monday, September 22, 2008 9:33 AMSubject: RE: [taxchat] printer recommendation
I guess I'll keep my HP. It takes a toner every 10,000 copies and no drum so it comes out to 1.5 cents per copy.

My Brother HL-2140 takes a TN-360 toner cartridge. Roughly 2500 copies, cost (if you shop around) about $40. Drum unit is DR-360, $71.50 from Amazon, yield is 12,000 copies. If you do the math, that works out to 2.2¢ per copy. These prices are for Brother branded units; you can cut the per-copy cost in half by using "compatible" toner and drums, but I've not had good luck with them.

How many copies do you get out of an ink cartridge and how much do they cost?

For a number of years, I've been buying Brother printers on sale, and treat them essentially as consumable supplies. I have two unopened HL-2140's in the supply closet right now, and two others in operation. They cost me about $70 each, they last for several years, they are reliable and they produce nice workmanlike output.

My HP 3300 just died!
Anyone have a printer that they would recommend? Or a brand to say away from?
I have always bought HP printers, but they are a lot more expenses AND I am moving my office this weekend so I already have more expenses that I need!
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Cris
