Depending on the dollar amount this could be very beneficial to your client. If the dollars are high then the agent is preventing the need to go through extra hoops for your client to qualify for installment payments personally. I would think that the two amounts would have to be dealt with separately because of two EINs anyway.

I have a client that has a liability from several years ago under his personal SS and he has newer liability under his Corp #.

 

The new auditor (this is the 4^th one to take over the case) wants to separate the two.  And have my client get set up on a payment plan for the personal stuff before we proceed to deal with the corp liability.

 

My question is that could this be detrimental for my client?

 

I don't think so, but when somebody tries to make a suggestion that will help my client and he is the one trying to get money from my client I am a little leary.

 

If anyone has any opinion I would appreciate the feedback.
