few times, then Yahoo automatically changes your status in there. That
would be the only way your profile could get changed without you having
changed it.

Sometimes, for whatever reason, messages get bounced. usually a
temporary thing on your ISP, but yahoo is sending so many messages that
if they get just a few from your address, they automatically switch you
to 'no mail'. I say this like someone does this with some thought, but
I expect it's completely within a computer.
