Have a client who wants to sell her wholesale pizza business. She makes frozen pizzas and sells them to bars. Her old accountant who died last year told her that she should be asking for one years gross receipts for a sales price. She called me because she has a potential buyer but the buyer thinks 50% gross receipts is more like it. Her equipment is old so she will be selling the recipe and a list of businesses that use her pizzas. She also has a delivery truck that is very old and isn’t worth much. In looking at it, I seem to remember a seminar that I went to that said this type of business would be valued more like 75% of gross receipts but I can’t find any of the info on it. Does anyone have any idea where I might find some statistics on this?
Sincerely,
Debbie Wilson EA
